Monster Fun and Bright Colors at CMC

Hi!! I think this may have been the longest I have gone without a post.  I had to take a little break because life has been a crazy adventure lately.  My middle girl Riley who is often my guest designer broke her foot.  She is an amazing little trooper and always in good spirits which can be hard when you are 6 years old and unable to do much. Then this week my laptop's hard drive decided to crash.    It makes me very upset because it was only a year and half old and the one time I don't get the extended warranty...aaarrrggghh!!!  Luckily, I think we got everything backed up*fingers crossed* and I am getting use to my new one. It is going to take awhile to get everything loaded and back but I am thankful my hubby was able to get me a new one. Enough of all that for now, I have more to share but I will save that for next time.
Today there s a new challenge up at the Color Me Creative Classroom and it is all about using bright fun colors.
 CMC Copic Challenge
#53 Use Bright Fun Colors
Challenge runs Until October 12th
We want to see you use YOUR COPICS, ProMarkers, other alcohol markers or Colored Pencils!!
Our sponsor is Susana's Custom Art and Card Design and the design team got the chance to use these fun little monster stamps and this one is called Monster Mash.
I felt like making a little door hanger along with my favorite bright lime and pink/melon color combo.  This color of green just screamed monster to me.  I tried to give her a little bit of a textured look and then added a dotted background to carry on the circle theme.
 Copics
YG25, YG23, YG00/RV14, RV13, RV10
Challenges
(I hope a door hanger is ok)
Don't forget to stop by and see what the rest of the CMC design team has created this week.
Have a great weekend I will be back soon to share a few new projects with you that I haven't had time to post.

The Sweet Stop 175 Holly Wishes

How is everyone today? I am getting so tired of the 100 degree weather I decided I could at least dream of cooler temperatures by getting started on my Christmas cards. I just couldn't resist this sweet little fairy called Holly from Wee Stamps. I just love coloring these cute little faces, they just make me happy.   To start my card I used the latest sketch from The Sweet Stop SSS175.
I just love this paper from Echo Park called Season''s Greetings.  The holly embossing folder is from Sizzix  and both punches are by Martha Stewart.  I added a little Star Dust Stickles to the snow and wings.
Copics

Thinking of You -CMC #51 Yellows

Hello!! How is everyone's week going?  It is speeding by here with the long weekend.  We are in the middle of a major painting project. It is time for a change but the height of our walls just doesn't make it fun just ask my poor hubby:)
I almost forgot to post my card for the new challenge at CMC Copic Challenge Group...ooops!!
Challenge #51 Runs until September 14th
color ANY image ANY way you like
but it must have YELLOW in the image somewhere
(and it must be clearly visible in the image)
There is also an option to add Kraft to your project.
We want to see you use YOUR COPICS, ProMarkers, other alcohol markers or Colored Pencils!!
Our sponsor this time is Pattie's Creation's Digital stamps and I was given this beautiful image called Thinking of You.
I colored the butterfly wings and flower center twice to give the card dimension.  It was a little hard to capture in the pictures though. The paper is MME Sunshine and the ribbon was a great find from The Paper Studio paired with some jute twine.
Copics
YR24, YR23, Y15, Y11/E44, E47, E43, E42
Challenges
Suzanne Dean will be debuting her All About Hair coloring class at CMC very soon and you can find all of the details HERE.

The Sweet Stop Sketch 174 -Howdy Cowgirl

Hi everyone!! What a crazy 24 hours it has been for my little blog. For those who don't know my blog was removed for some unknown reason and I had to go through the process of getting Google to approve to put it back online. Scary to say the least especially since I didn't have it backed up. It was one of those things I needed to find out how to do but kept putting it off. Lesson learned I tell ya.  Thank you to all of you who kept my spirits up when I thought it was lost forever:)
While I was in a panic there was a new The Sweet Stop Sketch  SSS174 that started today and here is what I came up with.
I made this to add to my Wryn  photo tray, which BTW I found a great easel stand to hold it when I went to Archivers in Austin.  I choose this image called Howdy Cowgirl Wryn by Tiddly Inks because she reminded me of Riley's field trip to the Rodeo where she wore none other than a pink cowgirl hat.
I made these little flowers out of some twine I had.  I started looping the twine I assume something I did making friendship bracelets in Jr. High and then rolled it into a circle and secured it with hot glue.  I added a couple of loops for leaves and a gem for the center.
 Challenges
Yes I did rotate the sketch:)
I hope you will stop by and visit the rest of the Sugar Babies.

Paris and Lattes

I hope everyone in blog land had a wonderful weekend!! We got some much needed rain last night so for that I am very thankful.   Preschool starts this week and the rest of the kids go back the following.  We are slowly going to start going to bed early and the same with getting up.  The kids are all ready to see their friends again.
There is a new challenge up at The CMC Copic Challenge Group and it runs until August 31st.  This time the challenge is to us Black and Dark Grays on your image.  There are also a few more days to take advantage of the summer sale at the CMC Class Room so don't miss out.  Our sponsor this week is Milk Coffee Digis and they are offering the winner a $15.00 gift certificate to their shop.
I finally decided to get started on my Smash book that has been sitting on the shelf for 6 months.  I just love this girl from Milk Coffee -Tiffany.  She looked so cute and stylish with her latte I decided to add a Paris background stamp by Make It Crafty.  I tried to give the background a light water color effect using my Copics.
The tape, journal page and book are all Smash products.  I cut the "Travel" out with my Slice and even added a little coffee stain on my doily to make it look authentic:) I had a lot of fun coloring this one.
Copics
Blacks and Grays C1, C3, C5, C7, C9/Building E40, E41, E42, E43/RV10, RV000,R01/R83,R85, R81/B01, B000/G21, G20

The Sweet Stop SSS172 Monkey Smiles

How is everyone enjoying the final few days of summer? My kids go back to school on the 27th so we have one more week of fun. I love having the kids home but I have to admit that I am getting tired and running out of "summer fun" ideas.  It would be different if we didn't live where it is too hot to go out and play.  I am also looking forward to a little bit more of a routine, I think...ask me again in a month.   One thing I am going to miss is sleeping late.  I am not ashamed to admit it, I like to sleep.  It could have something to do with staying up into the wee hours of the morning:)
It is time for another sketch at The Sweet Stop and this week there is a spin which means there is a prize along with the chance to be featured in the the spotlight.  We want to see you use those Die Cuts or Punches.  Normally, I would color something and add a die cut to it but this time I got inspired on Pinterest with Punch Art.  Who knew you could create so many cute things with punches?
I loved trying something different and it came together really quickly.  I used my Circle, Heart and Oval Spellbinders to create the monkey.  The eyes I just colored into the shape I wanted with a black Sharpie and Poster Pen.  I hit my old paper stash and found this Bo Bunny Mango Luau.  I did move the sentiment down a bit from the sketch but it just fit perfectly it is from C.C. Designs.
