The Paper Shelter #130 Faux or Real Stitching

Hi everyone. Today is a bitter sweet good bye because today is my last challenge as part of The Paper Shelter Design Team.  This is the first time in over three years that I haven't been on a team and I am excited that I made this decision.  This will allow me more time for my kids but also to create with no limits or boundaries, everything for fun.
Thank you so much to my great design team leaders Marie and Shirley and also to the fabulous Pedro and Veronica who create the most amazing art work.
I had to go the faux stitching route because, sewing is just not what I do well.  I used In the 20s for my image,  I have always loved this one and finally got around to using her.

Caught By Your Spell

I hope everyone is having a good week. The calendar is overflowing with activities that are making me miss the quite of summer.  Did anyone get the chance to apply for The Paper Shelter Design Team? If so, I wish you the best of luck.
For this week's challenge at The Paper Shelter we want to see you use the Sun, Moon or Stars on your project. Veronica and Pedro are offering you a fabulous prize of $30 to spend on their website if you use a Paper Shelter image or 3 digis if you use another.
I used one of the new images called Incantation.  Isn't she the prettiest little witch? I love her!!
I have been wanting to play with my Silhouette Cameo and am I ever glad I did.  Look at the detail on the spider web.  It amazes me the way it cuts. There is absolutely no comparison to the Cricut and yes, I have both.  The sentiment is from C.C Designs and the star punch is from the Paper Studio.
It seemed that with her casting a spell I needed to add a glow around her with my Copics. I then sponged in with black ink.  I am so tired right now I am going to be lazy and not list the markers I used, sorry.
Have a great day!!!

TPS Challenge Lace and Pearls

Happy Wednesday my friends!! This is day three of back to school and I don't like seeing 5:45 AM. So far the kids are adjusting well but I am sure the tired and grumpy will catch up with them this afternoon. It is so strange having all three of them gone during the day, I am going to have to adjust and get a new routine down.
With all of the rush of getting ready for back to school it left me with no energy to craft so that is when The Paper Shelter's pre-colored image came in very handy.  They are beautifully colored and they print perfectly.  So if you are running short on time and need a quick card I highly recommend trying them out and the best part is they come with the digital line images.
Today I used A. Mucha Influence- Summer to go along with the new challenge at The Paper Shelter #125 Lace and Pearls.  I distressed the edges of my papers and added some pearls to the C.C. Designs Leafy Branch Die Cut.
Veronica and Pedro from The Paper Shelter are offering you a fabulous prize of $30 to spend on their website if you use a Paper Shelter image or 3 digis if you use another.
Maybe soon I can share some fun things I have done this past year including three parties and my kids room make overs. Have a great day!!

Cave Girl

Hey there everyone!! I know it has been a very long time and you can guess by my lack of posts I am enjoying summer with the kids. Truthfully though I can rarely get on my computer because my son is obsessed with Minecraft as is the rest of the young boys of the world.  We have about a week and half until school starts, yuck!!
This week the B team is hosting the challenge at The Paper Shelter and we want to see you use that Ribbon.   I used the Cute Cave Girl today and I just think she is so fun.  I layered a few different ribbons with Bo Bunny's Zoology paper.  The sentiment is from an old Stampin Up set.  I didn't write down the Copic colors today, sorry about that.
Veronica and Pedro from The Paper Shelter are offering you a fabulous prize of $30 to spend on their website if you use a Paper Shelter image or 3 digis if you use another, great prize either way.
Have a wonderful day!!

Anything Goes Challenge at The Paper Shelter

Good Morning!! I hope everyone is ready for a wonderful day. This is going to be a super quick post because I have so much to do around the house before the kids get up. Summer is so much fun having the kids home but also makes it impossible to get things done.
This week starts the Anything Goes Challenge at The Paper Shelter.  The challenge is going to run for  2 weeks this time and both Design Teams have created something to share with you for inspiration.
I created a book mark using the very appropriately named The Most Adorable Panda.  The nice thing about TPS images is that you get a colored version along with the line drawings so if you have a quick card to make you can just print them out and you are ready to go.  This is the first time I have done this because I love to color but I am super happy with the results, you can't even tell it wasn't hand colored.
I made this book mark to where it opens up and can slip over the pages.  All three of my kids were fighting over who gets to keep it so I will be making two more to keep the peace in the family.
Please head on over to The Paper Shelter and get all of the details about the challenge and enjoy the rest of your week.

Swirly Girly Challenge at The Paper Shelter

Hello!! I hope that everyone is doing well.  Summer is flying by and I really wish it would slow down.  I enjoy having a relaxed schedule and sometimes not one at all.  The weather has been surprisingly mild for a South Texas summer which is a nice change.  We have been working on a family project building a Lemonade Stand that will double as a Girl Scout Cookie Booth and Cub Scout Popcorn booth too.  I will have to share some pictures when we get it done.
Today starts a new challenge at The Paper Shelter #120 Swirly Girly - Make a card for a Girl with at least one Swirl on it. I used this fun summer image called A Refreshing Drink form TPS. Veronica and Pedro from The Paper Shelter are offering you a fabulous prize of $30 to spend on their website if you use a Paper Shelter image or 3 digis if you use another.

I have been on such an orange kick lately but I think I have it out of my system now.  The paper is from My Minds Eye called The Sweetest Thing Tangerine and the little drink embellishment is from Recollections.  The swirls are a Memory Box die. I love to use my Cameo for swirls but I forgot to order a new blade so I had to use what I had and doubled it up.

Get Well Wishes

Hi everyone!! I hope you are having a wonderful week. The kids had their last day of school Friday but we are still in busy mode for another week with swim lessons and dance recital coming up this weekend. I am looking forward to not having so many scheduled things and just resting and doing whatever, whenever.
I want to thank everyone for stopping by and commenting over the past few weeks. I am a little behind on visiting blogs so bare with me. I am hoping to have more blogging time very soon.
Today starts another new challenge at The Paper Shelter so I hope that you can join us.  The challenge this time is to use Pink and White or Blue and White. Veronica and Pedro from The Paper Shelter are offering you a fabulous prize of $30 to spend on their website if you use a Paper Shelter image or 3 digis if you use another.

I used this weeks sketch from The Sweet Stop SSS214.  The image is one of two Cute Nurses from TPS.  The sentiment is from There She Goes- In All The World and the edge punch is from Sweet 'n Sassy.  My coloring was a bit off this week but hopefully the cute stamp makes up for it.

Have a wonderful day!!

School's Out for Summer

The countdown to summer is here, 7 1/2 days left for my kiddos. It seems like the year flew by and I am still in denial that my youngest will be starting Kinder in the fall. I try to always take mental snap shots and try my best to remember all of the small things because they grow so fast. I wish I was better about keeping a journal or scrapbook, maybe that should be my summer project along with a million other things I would like to craft and organize.  What do you do to keep those memories?  I would love to hear from you.  I have always loved making Shutterfly books to get those pictures off the computer but I am very intrigued by Project Life too but haven't even started that.

Today I wanted to tell you about the latest challenge at  The Paper Shelter.  This time it is a little bit out of the normal comfort zone for most, we want to see those Shaped or Easel cards.  I had such a hard time with my card this time, well this was my third attempt and that is all I am going to say:)
I ended up using my Cameo to cut out the apple card shape which came from the Silhouette on line store.  The Cameo is another thing I need to learn more about for  sure.  I used my Sharpie  Paint pen to create the stitching and colored the little wooden scissors and apple with my Copics.  The paper is actually different journal cards and quotes that I pieced together from Pine Cone Press School Days collection.  I fussy cut cut my image Learning is Fun by The Paper Shelter.

Keep Cool and Anything Goes at The Paper Shelter

Happy Wednesday!! This week is just flying by as they all seem to do. It was busy for me last week trying to make sure all of the teachers and office staff had a little something everyday for Teacher Appreciation Week.  I hope they all know how much we love them for taking such good care of our kiddos.
Today starts a new challenge at The Paper Shelter and it is one we all love Anything Goes so there is no reason not to play along.  I thought I would try to get in the mood for summer although I dread the heat that comes with it.  I used one of the TPS digis called Sunny Days that I have always thought was so cute.  Unfortunately, this didn't turn out how I planned because I found out the hard way that the blade on my Cameo was dull so my cute embellishments and cut out sentiment had to be replaced with a not so great flower.  Oh well sometimes you just have to go with it or change it up when the new blade comes in.
Don't forget Veronica and Pedro from The Paper Shelter are offering you a fabulous prize of $30 to spend on their website if you use a Paper Shelter image or 3 digis if you use another.
I hope you have a wonderful week!!

Rock Star

I hope everyone is having a wonderful week so far. I just wanted to pop in and say "Thank You" to all of those who visited this past weekend for the CMC Birthday Blog Hop.
This week there is a new fun challenge over at The Paper Shelter and MUSIC MAESTRO is the theme.   I hardly ever use purple, not sure why but I was totally in a purple mood and I kind of love the way this rocker chic's hair turned out.
This TPS digi is called Rock Star.  I started by coloring her with Copics  and created a tag that I thought my girls can use for a book mark.

Hello crafty friends!! Sorry it has been so long since my last post but life has gotten a little bit busy lately and I know you can all relate to that.

Not only is there a new challenge but we are also celebrating hitting over 1000 followers at The Paper Shelter Blog so in addition to the $30 voucher for the winner who uses a TPS image; Veronica and Pedro are giving away a second $20 voucher to use in the store.  How great is that?
There are so many adorable new images including this one called Freshly Harvested.
I colored her with copics and used some old papers that I had in my stash.  The daisy dies are from My Favorite Things and the herb looking leaves, I cut out on my Silhouette Cameo (love that thing).  The seed packet is a a rubber stamp set from C.C. Designs called Woodland Logos.

Spring Time Challenge at The Paper Shelter

It is beginning to feel a lot like spring here in South Texas...who am I kidding? It is already starting to feel like summer. It doesn't get very cold here so I appreciate every little bit that we have. In honor of the start of spring the new challenge at The Paper Shelter is to create a Spring Time card.  As always our very generous sponsors are Veronica and Pedro from The Paper Shelter and they are offering you a fabulous prize of $30 to spend on their website if you use a Paper Shelter image or 3 digis if you use another.  Fabulous prize either way!!

My mom's birthday was yesterday so I made this card for her special day.  Last year I got her a shadow box that holds 4x6 pictures, I thought this would be a good way for her to display the cards I give her.  However, me working on such a small card area is always a bit of a challenge, I like a lot of space:)
I used Spring In the Heart by TPS (I just think she is so sweet) and colored it with Copics.  I sponged the clouds using a cloud template I  drew and cut out.  The paper is My Minds Eye Dolled Up and the butterfly punch is Martha Stewart.

Make a Wish

I am so excited to be sharing my first card for The Paper Shelter Challenge. I just adore these images and have for a very long time so to be part of the wonderful team is just so exciting.  This week the "B" team is challenging you to use those Punches and Dies in your creations. As always our very generous sponsors are Veronica and Pedro from The Paper Shelter and they are offering you a fabulous prize of $30. to spend on their website.  They just added some new images that are just the cutest so please stop by and take a look.
My daughter's teacher had a birthday this week so I used Pattisier In Distress and colored her to resemble my Riley.
I created the cupcake banner with the EK Success cupcake border and used MFT Die-namics Mini Tabs Quartet to go along with the challenge theme. I love the fun colors of the paper-Fancy Pants Be You collection.  I some how failed to write down the Copics I used, so sorry about that.

The Sweet Stop Sketch 168 Blast Off

I hope everyone is having a good weekend so far. Last weekend we took a trip to the beach at Corpus Christie and had a great time.  It is always nice to get away even if just for a  little bit and watching the kids always makes my heart happy.
Some how I managed to get a couple of cards done this week and even early, yeah me:)  This week we have another fabulous sketch at The Sweet Stop SSS168 to help you get started on your crafting this
weekend. Oh, and this week it is Sketch with a Spin so we want to see you use numbers somewhere on you creation that also means there is a prize to be given away along with the chance to be featured on the blog.

With the number theme in mind I started with paper from MME Lime Twist and Bazzilli card stock, love that stuff.  The image is from The Paper Shelter called  Retro Space Girl, sorry I can't help it I love coloring these.  I cut her out and glued her over my cloud dies that I meant to pop up but forgot to do...oh well.  For the die cuts I used the Jumbo Scallop Die-namics  from MFT and Clouds and Rain Drops from Sweet 'n Sassy. Her bubble helmet inspired me to add the clear drops on the scallop for a little extra touch.
