School's Out for Summer

The countdown to summer is here, 7 1/2 days left for my kiddos. It seems like the year flew by and I am still in denial that my youngest will be starting Kinder in the fall. I try to always take mental snap shots and try my best to remember all of the small things because they grow so fast. I wish I was better about keeping a journal or scrapbook, maybe that should be my summer project along with a million other things I would like to craft and organize.  What do you do to keep those memories?  I would love to hear from you.  I have always loved making Shutterfly books to get those pictures off the computer but I am very intrigued by Project Life too but haven't even started that.

Today I wanted to tell you about the latest challenge at  The Paper Shelter.  This time it is a little bit out of the normal comfort zone for most, we want to see those Shaped or Easel cards.  I had such a hard time with my card this time, well this was my third attempt and that is all I am going to say:)
I ended up using my Cameo to cut out the apple card shape which came from the Silhouette on line store.  The Cameo is another thing I need to learn more about for  sure.  I used my Sharpie  Paint pen to create the stitching and colored the little wooden scissors and apple with my Copics.  The paper is actually different journal cards and quotes that I pieced together from Pine Cone Press School Days collection.  I fussy cut cut my image Learning is Fun by The Paper Shelter.

CMC Anything Goes-Thank You Teacher

Hey everyone!! I hope you had a fabulous Mother's Day weekend.  Mine was special with breakfast in bed and a Galaxy 2 Tab, and so many wonderful cards and pictures from the kids. Time goes by so fast and I wish I could keep them young and innocent forever.
Today was my birthday and boy do the kids love birthdays.  Zebra stripes and pink were the colors this year, so cute!! Addison didn't go more than five minutes without saying "happy birthday" or "it's your birthday", she it such a sweetie.
It is time for a new challenge at CMC Copic Challenge, it started Saturday but I am a little behind.
This time is a super easy one Anything Goes and we are being sponsored by Some Odd Girl.  I decided to stick with the school theme because now I have to get gifts done for end of school.  This digi is actually a freebie by Whimsie Doodles called Pencil Pixie and you can get her HERE.
I tried a new hair technique that I learned in the CMC Class 5.  This was my very first attempt and I just ran with it, I could use a little more practice but over all I think she turned out pretty good.  There is going to be an awesome sale coming up on May 25th so it will be the perfect time to take those classes.

Lunch Box Notes-Back to School Review at All That Scraps

Hello everyone!! It is the back to School countdown here at my house... only 9 more days to go "yikes" or is that "yippee"? I guess it depends on who you ask... LOL.  I am so happy I got all of the school shopping done about 2 or 3 weeks ago.  I am not usually that on top of things but it just seemed to easy to get it done and actually have a good selection.  Riley isn't going to be happy wearing, as she calls them "boring clothes".  It will be an adventure having her in school and I look forward to what the year holds.
Lunch Box Notes
I took several pictures of this set because there are several parts to it.  I started by making a double pocket card and used Cosmo Cricket Boyfriend papers along with my EK Success edge punch.  My stamps are all from C.C. Designs and you can find them Here at All That Scraps.  I used the Apple and Crayon Digi, Emma With Pencil Digi and the Read Sentiment is from the Back to School Set by Itzie Inkies .
I enlarged the crayon and removed the apple so Emma would have a nice place to sit.  I then decided to make some little cards to put inside my kids lunch boxes to brighten their day.  It use to make me so happy when my mom would put notes in my lunch box.  I added the sentiments in Word while I had my digis up so I could place them and get the size I wanted.  The apples got a nice coat of Glossy Accents to finish it off.
Challenges
I hope I have inspired you to make something special for Back To School.  The rest of the ATS Digi Team has been hard at work so stop by the ATS Blog and take a peek.
