The Sweet Stop 165 American Cutie

Hey everyone!! I hope everyone had a wonderful week.  We just finished up swim lessons so for awhile at least we can get back to no type of "set" schedule.  I love having my kids home but I do miss having those few hours of quite time a week to craft.  I can't even believe the 4th of July is almost here, where is the year going?
I had fun making my card for The Sweet Stop Sketch SSS165 this week.  I got a tad carried away with my layers... I can tell you I won't be mailing this card, it would cost a fortune:)
I fell in love with this image from Saturated Canary called To the Lake and thought it would make a great Americana kind of card.
I found this paper from The Paper Studio and knew the weathered deck would work perfectly with my image. The sentiment is from C.C. Designs Summer Sentiments and the  Border punch is  Die-namics Zig Zag Border. I did have to change the shape of the oval on the sketch because the size I had just did not give me enough room to color the way I like to.

The Sweet Stop 164 and Big Hair at CMC

So summer is in full swing as you can tell from my lack of posts. The kids are staying up later which makes crafting after bedtime next to impossible, it wouldn't be so bad but I have been so tired. We just finished up Vacation Bible School and I had a blast helping out in crafts. It is so fun to see the different personalities of all the kids and to be covered in paint, glue and shaving cream throughout the week.

My card today combines two new challenges the first is this week's The Sweet Stop Sketch SSS164 and a brand new Challenge at the CMC Copic Challenge Group which is a fun one, Big Hair.   Our sponsor at CMC this week is Crafts & Me and I got to use this beautiful digi called Devonnne.  Most of you that have followed me for a while know I love doing hair but this week I stepped out of my comfort zone and worked on black hair which I don't do very often.

The die cuts are from Memory Box ( I love how delicate these are) and the paper is from The Paper Studio.

The Sweet Stop Sketch 163 You Are So Handy

Happy Father's Day weekend!! I hope everyone has something special planned for those wonderful dads in our lives. The kids and me have been working all week on a few special handmade gifts, nothing over the top but cute and simple things that they could work on.  I will share them with you later.
After taking a couple of weeks off at The Sweet Stop I am back:) Perfect time to get a card made for the hubby, truthfully it was suppose to be for my dad but it looks nothing like him and since he doesn't have much hair left it might insult him LOL... I can hear it now.
This week it is Sketch with a Spin so we want to see you add texture to your creations and you could win a great set from Sweet 'n Sassy.

I absolutely love this embossing folder from The Paper Studio the wood grain is so perfect for those manly cards.  The paper is from one of my all time favorites MME Stella Rose.  The stamp set is from Taylored Expressions called Moka Tim.

It's All About Babies at CMC

Hi everyone, it has been a long time. What a busy couple of weeks having the kids home from school.  We have been doing some  major spring cleaning along with a garage sale.  Swim lessons started this week and next week is Vacation Bible School where I will be helping with crafts.
Even though I have been on a break the crafting world still carries on:)
A new challenge started this past weekend at the CMC Copic Challenge Group and this time we want to see those Baby cards colored in your choice of Copics, ProMarkers, other alcohol markers or Colored Pencils!
For those of you who are going to CHA in Chicago Suzanne Dean will be teaching Coloring classes the Sunday before CHA starts. If you haven't taken her classes in person you will have a blast and learn so much.  You can find all of the details at www.cmcroad.com.
Our sponsor this week is I Brake For Stamps and I got to use this cute little Clothesline Bear.
I wanted to use  non-traditional baby colors for my card and found these white clothes pins that I colored with my Copics to match the papers.

Now it is your turn to go create those baby cards and don't forget to see what the rest of the CMC DT has  created.  Enjoy the rest of the week and I will see you soon, really I am not kidding!!
